Views on energy use are changing rapidly. This is a positive trend, because it is possible to use energy much more efficiently. Dat is een positieve trend, want het is mogelijk om energie veel efficiënter te gebruiken. Thanks to innovative solutions, data and other information, we can use energy in a much smarter way. New sources of energy are also emerging, such as hydrogen.
It is necessary to look differently at the generation, use and reuse of energy. The consequences of climate change – drought, flooding and clustered showers – demand it, as does the challenge of reducing CO2 and particulate matter emissions.
There are many different programmes and projects in this field. But ultimately it is the person – the user – and our way of doing things that make the difference. After all, the key to this whole thing lies with us. In order to change the way we deal with energy, it is important to influence human behaviour. Connected actively contributes to this by examining this behaviour and 'bringing the outside world inside'. These policies usually start with the governments. The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, and various provinces and municipalities are already actively working on this. Connected supports them at the strategic, tactical and operational level.
